scheinbar tut sich endlich mal etwas in der Musikbranche in Bezug auf das ewige Copyright-Geplänkel. The charlatans wird ab 22.Oktober ihr neue Single „You Cross My Path“ auf der xfm-radio-site frei zum Download angeboten. Nicht das es unbedingt so revolutionär wäre, aber ihre Begründung gefällt mir:

„Whilst live music and merchandise sales are booming, physical sales are steadily decreasing with more and more fans simply burning tracks from friends or free download sites. McGee continued, “The band will get paid more by more people coming to the gigs, buying merchandise, publishing and synch fees. I believe it’s the future business model.”

Das Album soll auch folgen, ich bin schon gespannt ob vielleicht auch andere auf diesen Zug aufspringen oder gibts das Modell etwa schon länger?
